Pathfinder Magazine is a student-run publication that showcases original visual and literary works created by students at Western Colorado University.
As a Graphic Designer, I worked with a team under the guidance of a Faculty Advisor and Creative Director to develop and produce the publication. My primary contributions included creating thematic mood boards and visual concepts, designing editorial spreads, assisting with submission events, and developing custom icons and artwork used throughout the magazine.
Each annual edition is built around a unique visual theme. For the 2025 edition, our team drew inspiration from the surf-punk and grunge aesthetics of the 1990s, reimagining them through a more artistic and contemporary lens.
The publication reflects this direction through expressive typography, graffiti-inspired graphics, layered textures, and a bold visual style. To give greater recognition to each contributor, every featured artist hand wrote their own name for inclusion in the magazine, adding a personal element while reinforcing the publication's handcrafted aesthetic.

SELECT SPREADS
The following spreads were largely designed by me in Adobe InDesign. Most notably, I contributed the interior cover pages for both beginning and end of the magazine. Other spreads I designed show my approach to layout while remaining on-theme. All spreads and covers were designed in Adobe InDesign.
