SAUCY DEVIL HOT SAUCE
Student Project
Western Colorado University
2025
Saucy Devil was a self-directed student project that served as an exercise in branding and packaging design.
The project itself was a concept for a modern Japanese-American fusion hot sauce brand. The target audience was young adult men (ages 18-30) with psychographic traits of being experimental, bold, culture-curious, and social.
As for the design choices of this project, I focused heavily on artistic but minimal and bold styles. The color palette relies heavily on blacks, greens, yellows, and reds. These choices are very common within both the hot sauce industry and Japanese traditional tattoo styles. Both visual tropes are able to be seamlessly fused in the final product.
Included in this project are mockups of packaging design for bottle labels, individual boxes, and shipping boxes. Alongside this I worked on logo design and business cards.
